Green cover removal on 3/14/11

Right side of #13 green which was left uncovered. The brown grass is undamaged and dormant, and will green up soon.
#12 geen after the cover was removed. Notice the fairway greening up nicely in the background.

March 11th Green Survey

As of today the greens appear to have little to no winter damage similar to what was experienced in 2010!  All the greens except #12, 13 and 15 the snow was removed prior to significant thaw to reduce the amount of potential ice forming precipitation. This winter we had several heavy snow storms followed by thawing cycles, requiring the golf course maintenance staff to remove large amounts of snow from the greens several times throughout the winter.

Green survey

#18 green 3/11/11 at this time appears to have no significant winter damage!!

Plans are to remove the covers on #12, 13, and 15 early next week before warmer temperatures and spring growth begins. We are anxious to see the results of covering these three problem greens.
